Ignite Growth

Friday, August 7th

Fontainebleau Las Vegas, 2777, South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, 89109

Join Horizon3’s Attack Engineering team for cocktails + conversation on why reproducibility beats the vibes.

Everyone's shipping AI-flavored everything right now. Vibe-coded features, LLM-wrapper "pentest" services with a human rubber-stamping the output, autocomplete that writes your remediation for you. Some of it is genuinely useful. Most of it also means nobody can tell you, with a straight face, what their tool will do twice in a row.

Ren Newton, Attack Engineer at Horizon3, is making the case for determinism. Not as nostalgia for the pre-AI era, but as a useful design constraint in how software gets built, in how a pentest gets run, in how a bug gets fixed.

Drawing on experience writing offensive tooling and running real engagements (including production-safe autonomous pentesting), Ren will walk through where non-deterministic tooling quietly erodes trust in your security posture and where deterministic outcomes are the difference between "we think we're covered" and "we know we're covered."

No AI doomerism, no AI hype. Come skeptical. Leave with opinions.

What to expect:

Good food, good drinks, and good conversation with good people. We’re bringing together a small group to discuss when reproducibility should be non-negotiable, and when it's fine to let the vibes cook.

RSVP to hold a spot.

SPEAKER BIO

Who is Ren?

Ren Newton is an Attack Engineer at Horizon3.ai, where she spends her days finding the gap between what a system is supposed to do and what it actually does. Ren's background spans malware development, offensive security, and the occasional argument about whether "good enough" is ever actually good enough. This talk is that argument, formalized.
